Mike Rinehart, Austin Rinehart, and Austin Jones win the Dover High School fishing Club event on Lake Dardanelle
Story by Terrance Narveson
Professional Fisherman Ray Scheide started the Dover High School Fishing Team this past summer and just like most Clubs around the country the hold events fishing against their piers. The High School Fishing events are a little different because they must have a boat captain out on the water with them. What Ray has done with his events is made the boat captains more involved in the tournament and they get to weigh their fish along with the kids while they are teaching. This gives the kids an opportunity to learn from an experienced angler and learn new techniques in the process. The event this weekend was held in conjunction with the Bass Mafia Tackle Store Grand Opening in Russellville. The kids got to do a weigh-in on a stage setup in front of the store and Professional Anglers Stephen Browning and Greg Hackney were there to MC the event and kick off the Grand Opening.
It was Boat Captain Mike Rinehart and his kids that took the top honors with their 4 fish weighing in at 16.36 lbs for the win. They commented that all their fish were caught on crankbaits way up the river.
