Lonnie Turner Tells "Ike" how his team won the Bass Cat Invitiational
Lonnie and Billy Ray Turner (Arkansas) topped 648 teams fishing the Bass Cat Owner's Invitational by bringing 25.02 pounds of bass to the scales during the two-day tournament. They dominated the event, winning by over 3 pounds. For their efforts, they will take home a beautiful fully rigged Bass Cat Puma worth over $40,000.00! As usual, this was an awesome event filled with activities for the entire family. Bass Cat treated the owners and their families to an excellent banquet, which included a meal and an awards ceremony that featured many of the anglers on Bass Cat's pro staff (including Michael Iaconelli, John Crews, Kevin Short, Mark Tyler, and Terry Butcher). The banquet culminated with one lucky owner winning a brand new Bass Cat Sabre! For more information on the Bass Cat Owner's Invitational, please visit www.basscat.com. Here's how the top 5 finishing teams caught their fish:

They caught all of their fish on split shot rigged Zoom Trick Worm (Watermelon/Red Flake), which they threw in the creeks (in the morning) and main lake pockets (in the afternoon). Stopping to fish a vacant main lake point, they had their limit within 15 or twenty minutes on a shaky head worm. They returned on day 2, and described the early action as "phenominal". Their fish had moved out on the point, and were pounding topwater baits.
