Doug Osmera and Pat Hayes (both from Omaha, Nebraska) topped 481
teams (to watch video of the "sea" of Bass Cat boats at take-off,

that weighed 29.13 pounds during the 2-day event. For their efforts, they will
take home a beautiful fully rigged Bass Cat Pantera II! As usual, this was
an awesome event filled with activities for the entire family. Bass Cat
treated the owners and their families to an excellent banquet, which included
a meal and an awards ceremony that featured many of the anglers on Bass
Cat's pro staff (including Kevin Short, Marty Stone, Billy McCaghren,
James Niggemeyer, and Kota Kyriama). The banquet culminated with one
lucky owner winning a brand new Bass Cat Sabre! For more information on
the Bass Cat Owner's Invitational, please visit

how the top 3 finishing teams caught their fish:

1st - Doug Osmera and Pat Hayes - 9 bass - 29.13 pounds - Bass Cat PII

Doug and Pat spent nearly a week
trying to find the winning stringer and
they were successful!!! The duo ran
up the river, where they threw
home made jigs (peanut butter/jelly)
to flooded brush. They commented
that they had never won a big bass
award, but they actually had the
biggest bass both day's of this event.

2nd - Dan Brown and Darren McFarland - 10 bass - 27.37 pounds - Bass Cat Skiff

Dan and Darren used the weather
conditions to their advantage. When
the wind blew, they caught their bass
on spinnerbaits (Booyah and
Chompers; white/chartreuse). During
calm conditions, they threw shakey
heads (Zoom Trick Worms on 3/16 oz.
heads) to fill out their limits.

3rd - Troy Lackey and Larry Graddy - 10 bass - 27.02 pounds

Larry and Troy caught keepers on
spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jigs.
They commented that the majority of
their weight came off the jig, which
was home made.

(Editors note - Frank Leone) While the final results were being tabulated,
Bass Cat provided some young anglers with rod/reel combo's as door prizes.
One of the young anglers put his new rod and reel to good use and caught a
nice bass not 100 yards from the weigh-in stage on a green pumpkin tube. It
was one of the coolest scenes that I've ever seen at a bass tournament........
