Dustin Huggins and Evan Barnes Win on Lake Dardanelle!!!
The Arkansas Tech University Team consisting of Dustin Huggins and Evan Barnes topped 63 teams fishing the 5th Annual Arkansas Tech University U.S. Boat Collegiate Bass Tournament on Lake Dardanelle by catching 29.98 pounds of bass during the 2-day event. The duo got off to a quick start on day-1, posting a 5-bass limit that weighed 16.54 pounds. Dustin and Evan didn't let off the gas on the final day, as they brought a solid limit to the scales weighing 13.44 pounds to take the victory. Here's how the top 3 teams caught their bass:
Dustin and Evan concentrated their efforts in both the upper and lower tubes. They thew several different baits during the 2-day event, but most of their good fish were caught on Excalibur XR-50 (Toledo Gold) lipless crankbaits, Yum Dingers (Watermelon), and Jewel Eakins' Jigs (3/8 oz.). They commented that Evan Barnes, Dustin Huggins, and they caught 19 keepers during the Russellville Mayor - Tyrone Williamson event.
2nd - ULM - Brett Preuett and Jordan Alexander - 24.78 pounds
Brett and Jordan, who represented the University of Louisiana Monroe, also fished in the tubes. They threw Strike King Red Eye Shad lipless crankbaits (crawfish) and Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper Swim Baits to catch their bass.

3rd - University of Arkansas - Kyle Curry and Benny Williams - 23.92 pounds
Kyle and Benny concentrated their efforts in the Illinois Bayou area. They caught their fish on War Eagle (chartreuse/white) and Booyah spinnerbaits.
