Derek Suit and Bryan Fox Win on Lake Hamilton!!!

33 Teams braved the cold temps on January 1 for the annual Anvil Jaw
Happy New Year’s Day tournament. With the temps in the high 20’s the
teams left the ramp looking for that 5 fish limit that would put them into
the winner’s circle for the 1st time this year.
With the water being cold and dirty from the recent rains, the bite was
slower than hoped but at the end of the day, some teams showed they
had the right patterns to win them some money.
1st Place went to Bryan Fox and Derek Suti with a weight of 12.84 lbs
that won them $520
2th place went to Hoyt Akins and Dough Thompson with a weight of
10.08 lbs that won them $289
Rounding out the top 3 was Derwin Thomas who had a weight of 9.63 lbs
worth $230
Big bass of the day was a 4.42 brute caught by Fox and Suit and that
gave them a additional $330 in winnings.
Talking to the anglers sounded like most of the fish were caught on jigs.
