Tournaments
Terrance and I are proud to announce the 2012 Get5Bass Winter
Series!!! As it was in 2011, the Winter Series will be a team format, but we
will have some changes this year. We will have three divisions in 2012, but
each division will have separate AOY winners and a separate Championship.
Each AOY winning team from each division will win a package consisting of
2 Dobyns Rods, 2 Lew's Reels, and a gift pack from Jewel Bait Company.
The top 20 teams in each division (and any other teams fishing 3 qualifying
tournaments) will be invited to fish their division's championship. The team
that wins each division's championship will win the first place cash prize +
$600 in Mr. Bass of Arkansas or Central Pro-Am entries.

Vince Miller Announces Super Team Specifics for 2012: Nitro Z7
with Mercury 150 HP to Winning Team at Championship
I am happy to announce Bradford Marine and ATV will again sponsor the
Vince Miller Super Team Tournaments for the 2012 season. Bradford
Marine will provide a Nitro Z7 rigged with Mercury 150 HP ProXS this is a
huge upgrade for the 2012 season. This Nitro package will be awarded to
the Team Champions of the Super Team Championship October 6-7 on
Lake Ouachita.
Bradford Marine will also provide Bradford Marine and ATV Bonus Bucks
for 2012: A $500 cash prize will be awarded at each super team and couples
event for the highest finishing team or couple fishing out of a boat they
bought from Bradford Marine and ATV (must be original owner). This
award can only be won once a year and Bradford pro-staff does not qualify
for this award.
There will also be a Fish’N Stuff Gift Certificate given at each team and
couples event drawn from the anglers out of the money ($100 for Super
Team, and $50 for couples, you must be present at the weigh-in to win)

Randy Fraser Wins the Dumas Bass Club Tournament at
Morgan Point
Randy Fraser Wins at Morgan Point!!!

This Saturday was the official start of the 2012 season for the Dumas Bass
Club. The early morning had some rather COOL conditions to start with,
but as the day progressed it turned out to be a rather nice day. A pretty day
it was, but not much was said for the fish catch. We had 23 show up to try
their luck. At weigh in, I think only half of that was left and half of that half
got to feel something tug on their line! 7 Anglers managed to hit a fish or
two on the head to bring something to the scales. Taking First place with 3
pretty nice fish, was Randy Fraser with 12.38, he also had big bass of the
day at 4.88. Second went to Dennis Nicholson who had two for 5.78. Third
place spot went to club PREZ..Dwight Armstrong with 2 for 5.45.

Ray Neighbors Wins the ABA Tournamement on Lake

Division 47, Arkansas held its fifth qualifying tournament of the 2012
season on Lake Ouachita 21 Jan 2012. Overcast skies, wind and
dropping temperatures made for a chilly day of fishing. The water temp
dropped several degrees, down into the upper 40’s, since our last visit to
Lake Ouachita two weeks ago. The shad in some parts of the lake have
made major moves since two weeks ago leaving some areas that had
large concentrations of shad now barren which may have accounted for
less fish weighed-in. 28 anglers weighed-in 68 fish for a total weight of
153.08 lbs.
Ray Neighbors of Haskell, Arkansas won in a commanding fashion and
took home $725.00 with 5 bass that bent the scales to 22.48 lbs including
Big Bass of the day at 5.05 lbs. Ray caught his fish on jigs and yes…an A-
rig. Danny Gwinn of Mount Ida, Arkansas hauled in second place with a
total weight of 13.37 lbs. Eddy Robertson of Hot Springs, Arkansas,
fishing his first tournament of the 2012 Division 47 season, rounded out
the top three with 12.76 lbs.
These anglers acquired valuable points to insure their entry into the
division’s two-day championship on Lake Ouachita in Apr 2012 and the
American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held on Grand
Lake, OK in the October 2012. Their points are also being used to
determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points
earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year
final round and compete for a brand new fully rigged Triton boat and a
spot in the Bassmaster Weekend Series National Championship on Sam
Rayburn in 2012.
Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament will be 18
February 2012 on Lake DeGray launching out of Iron Mountain Resort.

Cold weather with dropping temperatures throughout the day didn't stop
43 teams from enjoying a full day of fishing. Fishing was easier because
catching was tougher, at the end of the day only 2 limits came to the
scales with 20 teams weighing in fish.
Dee Reed & Bruce Lloyd topped the field with 5 bass weighing 15.08lbs
winning $1000 Cash.
Brent Ward & Jeff Puckett took second weighing in 5 for a total weight of
13.91lbs and a payday of $300 Cash
Alan Melder & Doc Ferguson rolled in to third place with 4 bass weighing
11.80 lbs collecting $200 Cash
Billy Booker & Johnny Walker sewed up the Big Bass award with a
5.51lb bass and $430 Cash
